This is our city

Before we begin our neighborhood cruise, we recommend using the map to the right to familiarize yourself with our various neighborhoods and where they are located in relation to each other. You will also find individualized neighborhood maps in the five sections to follow, each featuring local highlights that will be covered in one of our four courses.

Neighborhood Cruise

Known as the “city on the water”, the cool waters of the Elbe River and Alster Lake lend Hamburg a delightful and inimitable charm. The sparkling surfaces of Hamburg’s waters are one of the first things guests fall in love with when visiting the city, making “water” one of the city’s intrinsic emblems. Almost 2,500 bridges – far more than in Amsterdam, London, and Venice combined – cross the innumerable waterways between the Elbe, Alster, and Bille. Its maritime flair, fresh air, and cosmopolitanism make Hamburg the finest city in the world for many people. With the North Sea and the Baltic Sea in easy reach, the Hamburg Metropolitan Region is seen as one of Germany’s favorite holiday areas.

All aboard!
